Playson is among the top performers in the gaming industry, and they have managed to maintain a very good standard, especially in their slots.
Luxor Gold Hold and Win is their latest release, and from the look of things, it’s like a remix of the regular Hold and Win principle.
Let’s look inside and see what the slot is all about:
The slot has a regular design that consists of 5 reels, 3 rows, plus 25 pay lines. It offers some great features like Free spins bonus, Hold and Win Jackpot, Stacked Symbols, Stacked Wilds, and Symbol Removal among others.
Luxor Gold Hold and Win is available for real money bettors, and I was happy to try a few spins. To play the slot for real money, I was required to use at least $0.20 per spin.
High roller bettors will love this slot since the highest wager amount that the developer has given is $100 per spin.
Luxor Gold Hold and Win is a medium to high volatility slot. The highest payout out that Playson has offered on the slot is 5,524xs the stake.
For the RTP, it’s not all that impressive as the highest that you can get is 95.76%, which is below the average of 96% that is common on modern slots.
Although the features herein are nothing unique, they are still interesting given the way the developer has designed them. Cleopatra Wilds are among those features, and they appear as 3-high symbols.
As usual, these will serve as a substitute for the regular symbols as you complete the winning combinations.
3 Vase Scatters appearing on the board will trigger up to 8 free spins. I love the fact that you can also retrigger the free spins features for additional rounds. To do this, you will need to land another 3 Vase Scatters which will give you an additional 8 extra free spins.
One thing that I noticed with the free spins is that the game works with a different set of reels while in this mode.
Landing 6+ Coins anywhere on the slot’s game area triggers the Hold and Win feature. This feature works just as it is intended to. The feature will reward you with up to 3 respins, and you will only receive Coins during the feature. Any similar symbols will also reset the number of respins to 3.
It is a feature that will go on and on until you have no more free spins, or until you get the entire board filled up with Coins. What I loved most about the Hold and Win feature is the fact that it gets spicier when there are two special types of Coins present. Mystery Coins will be transformed randomly into Jackpot Coins once the feature comes to an end.
Then, we get the Jackpot Coins, and these will earn you 3 of the 4 jackpots on offer. The number of wins that are possible here is 20x, 50x, and 150x the stake.
The Grand jackpot offers up to 5,000x the stake and will require you to fill the whole board with Coins.
Finally, is the random Treasure Chest feature. This one can trigger the Hold and Win feature even when there are not enough Coins on the board.
Playson has used the classic Egyptian theme on this slot, and there are almost no twists to it.
The graphics look sleek and modern, but they are not totally original. With so many Egyptian-themed slots already available, I’m impressed that Playson still managed to create an impressive slot.
Playson gave this title several symbols that include card ranks (Jacks to Aces), plus others like chest and drawers which are more thematic.
The slot is very solid but lacks originality. However, if you are a fan of the Hold and Win field, then you will most likely love it.
